  3. Although I believe that genetic engineering such as that found in science fiction shows and movies is immoral, genomic testing in the way that we use it now is not immoral. Using it to do things such as determine whether a woman has a breast cancer gene or whether an adult is predisposed to Parkinson's or something like that is not immoral. However, using this technology to determine what a baby's genome is can be immoral because the parents could decide to abort the child or give the child away. Using it to these ends is immoral.

    I found an article that was unrelated to this but I found it a story about medical maijuana. In Colorado a little girl was suffering from severe seizures hundreds of times a week but when she used medical marijuana these seizures basically stopped. This story has interesting implications and has doctors concerned about the potential use of marijuana.

  5. Follow up on the kidney case apparently this has happened before. A doctor gave his kidney to his wife who her later divorced for being unfaithful. See link below.

    The judge rejected his case because in New York it is a felony for people to give or take money for a human organ. See link below.
